Bernadette de Lourdes – 2021 and 2022
We announced last May the resumption of the show Bernadette de Lourdes for the 2021 season. It was without considering the COVID-19 pandemic resurgence which no longer allows us to contemplate the 2021 season as we imagined.
We need to protect our staff and our audience which is often fragile.
Moreover, in a context of continuing uncertainty regarding the evolution of the virus and the prohibition or social distancing safety measures, we have decided to be cautious in order not to jeopardize permanently the future of this beautiful show that became so important during the journey of so many pilgrims in Lourdes.
Consequently, we made several decisions:
- For the 2021 season we will offer an alternative to the show, in the form of performances from the Bernadette de Lourdes cast and for which outlines will be defined in the coming weeks;
- We postpone the resumption of the show in its original and full version at the Espace Robert Hossein in Lourdes until April 2022;
- Finally, for many pilgrims, especially those who are the most fragile and cannot travel to Lourdes any longer, we will come to them for a few special dates in different large cities in France before the resumption of the season in 2022 in Lourdes.
These decisions, as difficult they may be, are the only ones at this stage which will allow us to resume our performances in all serenity, with the whole Bernadette de Lourdes cast, at the end of this unprecedented global health crisis. We know you will understand them.
As we have promised you since the beginning of this amazing journey, and even if the route is full of obstacles, we will not desert Lourdes!
